After graduating from college in 1973, Lyle worked for a certified public accounting firm specializing in audits and taxes. In 1975, he joined a local bank where he was the Agricultural Loan Officer and did all types of lending. During this time, Lyle served as the Chamber of Commerce President. He also served as an officer on many of the Industrial Recruitment Boards, both local and regional.
In 1995, Lyle retired from banking and took over the family farm, along with his mother, in Elk City, KS. He is involved in a beef cattle herd and a haying operation. Lyle is currently running 200 mixed Augus cows in a cow/calf operation.
Since 1996, Lyle has been involved in all facets of real estate. He specializes in selling farms and ranches in Southeast Kansas, but also handles listings and sales for homes and commercial properties. Lyle does estate appraisals for local attorneys as well.
Lyle is married to Jennifer, a retired kindergarten teacher for USD 446. They have 6 grown children and 14 grandchildren. Lyle is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence. He has served on all Boards since becoming a member in 1973.
